How to Identify Your Linux File System Type

Use file Command

$ sudo file -sL /dev/sdc1
/dev/sdc1: Linux rev 1.0 ext4 filesystem data (needs journal recovery) (extents) (large files) (huge files)

$ sudo file -sL /dev/sdc
/dev/sdc: x86 boot sector; partition 1: ID=0x7, starthead 1, startsector 63, 3907024065 sectors, extended partition table (last)\011, code offset 0x0
