Google has announced that Google Analytics is enhancing support for AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) with the introduction of a new service, the Google AMP Client ID API.

The Google AMP Client ID API allows developers to identify and analyze (through Google Analytics) the behavior of users who visit and engage with content on pages whether those pages are AMP or non-AMP, so long as they are within the same domain. The service provides user behavior metrics such as bounce rate, session duration, and pages per session. To use this new service, a couple of code changes are required to opt-in to the solution. The changes include one in your AMP page configuration file, and another in your Google Analytics javascript file.
